Calabi Gallery will be exhibiting mixed media sculptures, acrylic paintings with mixed media materials on canvas and panels, digital monoprints and photographs by James Ford Grant from May 7th through July 2nd, 2016. Opening reception Saturday, May 7th from 4-7pm.
James Ford Grant received his BFA from Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles in 1964. He has exhibited in solo and group shows since 1967, and his artwork is included in several private and corporate collections. Grant has also been commissioned to do a number of large-scale sculptural objects.
From 1970 to 2010 Grant was self-employed as an art conservator specializing in objects made of plastic and architectural components. He has worked with a number of theater and dance companies making visual components for performances. Grant’s artwork in collaboration with musicians and dancers include paintings, sculpture, slide projection and handmade filmstrips.
In addition, a wide array of artwork will also be on display from the gallery collection including antique, modern and contemporary inventory in all mediums.
