I was drawn to photography to record social and political changes that were happening around me and were forever altering my worldview.  Photography became my way to explore and deepen my understanding of the social and political environment while allowing me to get in close and interact with those whose values I share.

I currently live in Sonoma County, CA where I am exploring the beauty of the natural environment. The fires of the recent past are examples of the susceptibility of the land to ignorant climate policies, as well as to the resilience of those who live in this environment who seek to protect it from further devastation.  – Mima Cataldo
