Beyond Borders Exhibition Opening!

Calabi Gallery is pleased to present our new show inspired by Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 – October 15) and Petaluma’s annual citywide celebration of The Day of the Dead. In addition to art produced south of the border, we are also including art from other parts of the world as well as art made by immigrants to this country, Native Americans, and American expatriates. Of course, any survey of diversity in the arts is incomplete without inclusion of artists who worked outside of the mainstream regardless of their point of origin. While we celebrate the unique contributions of diverse cultures, let us not forget that we are all one and that national borders are artificial boundaries. We ask you to join us in this exploration of diversity and unity.
Beyond Borders will open on Saturday, September 10, and can be enjoyed as part of the Petaluma Second Saturday Art Walk, from 4-7pm. We will also host a reception on Sunday the 11th from 2-5pm. The show will continue through the first week of November.
