California painter and poet Sutter Marin was affiliated with San Francisco’s North Beach and the San Francisco Beat Movement. His extraordinary paintings of the 70’s and 80’s were far out of the visual arts mainstream. Marin was an instructor at the San Francisco Art Institute and at the San Francisco Creative Art Center, which he co-founded.
